Initial Consultation
The initial consultation is used
to formulate the purpose and goals of the coaching program.
At this time the roles and mutual requirements will be agreed
upon.
Assessment
An integral part of the coaching
program, the assessment process begins with in-depth interviews
with the person being coached and his/her supervisor.
Based on the results of these interviews, appropriate assessment
techniques will be selected to determine the needs of the
person being coached. Assessments include:
On-line
assessments such as DiSCŪ, Reiss Desire Profile, Myers Briggs, Listening Profile
360- degree
instrument
Additional
assessments can be added as needed
Development of Coaching Plan
With the assessment results in hand, a coaching plan is developed
with the person being coached and takes into account the purpose
and goals articulated in the initial consultation. The plan
is then discussed with the appropriate supervisor. This plan
includes how progress will be measured. Since coaching is
a process and it takes time to bring about the desired changes,
a three to six-month commitment is recommended.
Implementation
Individual coaching sessions occur
weekly in the beginning and move to every other week. The
sessions can be over the phone or in-person.
Evaluation
The first evaluation occurs
midpoint through the coaching program. At this time we make
any adjustments as needed to assure that we accomplish the
specified results. A final evaluation is completed at the
end, using measuring tools agreed upon earlier. There are
no binding contracts; mutual trust is an important component
to the success of the coaching.
